All About Us...

Hi. Welcome to our blog. We are sisters who gave birth to our baby girls just 5 weeks apart and are so blessed to be able to share this time in our lives. Our daughters could not be more different. To be honest, neither could we, but we do share one thing in common: Perinatal mood disorders. For J. the struggle began during her pregnancy and came in the form of severe obsessive compulsive disorder and panic attacks. Things improved tremendously, but briefly, after the birth of her daughter, but terror and grief returned with a vengeance just three days after the birth. Christie's pregnancy was relatively uneventful and healthy, however shortly after the delivery of her baby girl, she began experiencing severe depression and anxiety. It improved briefly, but returned insidiously and violently. Here we record our thoughts, work through our feelings, and share some of our most raw and vulnerable moments. Read with thoughtfulness and grace, please. We are not perfect; we risk and write imperfectly in the hope that our struggles might help others, or might at least serve to help end the silence surrounding perinatal mood disorders. We hope you will be blessed by our blog.
